Relationship Literacy

Administrators

Congratulations!  You are a part of a quickly growing network of schools and programs that are experiencing Relationship Literacy!  We can’t thank you enough for your willingness to offer your student body to our pilot program.

We hope that the brief time your students spend with our pilot program will be a rewarding endeavor.  It is our aim that Relationship Literacy will begin to take shape in their personal lives and in the life of your school.
Starting now, we want help young people build and maintain relationships that will positively affect every area of their development.

Purpose of the Relationship Literacy for Schools Pilot Program

As with any new venture, especially within the world of technology, it is important to make sure that all systems are functioning properly.  And with Relationship Literacy, that couldn’t be closer to the TRUTH!!  Although this curriculum has been in development for over 10 years, we are launching it for the first time as an online program.  We not only want to make sure that our online system is user friendly, but that students are responding well to our content and actually benefitting from our intended goal of teaching our youth how to build healthy relationships.

How the Pilot Works

  • Our development team will contact you about enrolling your school then arrange a meeting with you and other staff members involved.  At such time we will walk you through our pilot program, have you fill out a participation agreement, and provide parental consent forms.
  • Set up for the Relationship Literacy Pilot will simply involve devising a schedule, distributing and collecting parent releases, and arranging student participants.
  • The goal is to have each school participate in both versions each consisting of (2) two 30-minute lessons and one 15-minute feedback session.  However, the length of time for the pilot in each school will differ based on regulations and schedule constraints of each school involved, all of which will be coordinated with administrators and parents.

Student Requirements throughout the Pilot

  • Students will engage with our program through either an online or paper version of our curriculum.  Both versions require that students read a short novella on the life of our leading character, Wealthy Williams.

  • After, they will be guided through a set of activities that will principles in the Managing Healthy Relationships Unit of our program.

  • At the end of the pilot, students will be asked to participate in an extensive survey responding to the program -- it’s appeal, user-friendliness, and impact on their personal environment.

  • Although future opportunities may arise for students to be featured in web and print publications, student identities WILL be kept confidential and securely maintained only for our records.

Your Role as School or Program Administrator

  • Urge your student(s) to give their full undivided attention and respect to their  involvement in this program

  • Ask your students questions about their experience with our program to encourage discussion about the concepts and principles outlined

  • Urge students to realize their vital importance to us as we continue to develop Relationship Literacy in every aspect.  Get them to understand that they are a part of something that is a nationwide project.  This is an invaluable service they are providing not to just their community, but to their nation.

  • Stay connected with us through our newsletter to receive updates on how we are growing and what new opportunities we have for students and adults to connect with relationship literacy

  • Contact us with your own feedback – questions, concerns, suggestions.  We will listen!
